These logs shall be kept for a period of five years unless the underlying data have not yet been deleted in accordance with Article 9(3) at the expiry of those five years, in which case the logs shall be kept until the underlying data are deleted. Those persons who perform security checks and who have access to PNR data and analyse them, as well as keeping the logs, shall possess the highest security clearance: they must undergo security screening and security training. Every person must have a profile determining and restricting what data they are permitted access to, in accordance with the nature of the person’s work and his role and powers.
